Talk in terms of pictures, yeah it is emoticons in overdrive. Zlango, a privately owned company founded in 2003 and headquartered in Israel, provides a web-based tool to do “Pic Talk” (talk in terms of pictures). Zlango is currently available for mobile subscribers in several territories and carriers: Israel - Pelephone, ESC, Orange & Cellcom. Poland – P4. The Caribbean – bMobile (Cable & Wireless)
Zlango has created a new, inspiring icon based language which transforms web and mobile messaging into an expressive, juicy, colorful icon-based experience.
Zlango is a revolutionary, simple and practical language. It’s made up of over 200 icons divided into intuitive and memorable categories. Words, concepts or feelings can be expressed by the different icons.
Zlango allows you to express yourself with icons. User can choose to “Create” a message and he/she is taken to a UI where he/she can choose from a set of icons (grouped into categories like: people, actions, places, feel, time, language, description, fun) to create a meaningful sentence using the icons instead of words.

Once created, Zlango allows you to email that message to your friends, publish that message on Zlango and even embed that message on your site or blog.
I created this message:
Yeah it says “Happy Valentine’s Day”! Here is one which I found using “Discover” feature they provide:
They even have the story of Adam and Eve and Little Red Riding Hood on their site.
They had a very interesting press release (in pictures). Here is a snapshot:

Icons have always fascinated me and they provide us a creative way to show and express ourselves in terms of pictures. Zlango mobile might be a good feature to use for SMS messages but I guess people in US have to wait for it to be available on their mobile phones.
Yup that means, I think Zlango is a hot idea.
